DOMS

Also known as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, seven games of beach volleyball, four hours of biking and two hours of ultimate frisbee (the intense kind, not the casual kind) is a surefire recipe.

Mini results

So, the mini was a success. No pain—back or otherwise. It was actually the best distance run of my life. The 10-mile training run I did was harder and more gruleling than this 13.1. I’ll share some race reflections later, but for now, I’ll post my official results:

Time: 1:49.30
Pace: 8:22/mile
5-mile split: 43:46
10-mile split: 1:25:37
Last 5k: 23:54

Overall place: 3633/29211
Place among 25-29 year old males: 483/1780
Place among males: 2993/13967

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.  It was a very fun day.

Mini

I’m running in the mini-Indy this weekend—the largest 1/2 marathon in the country. Physically and mentally, I believe I’m ready. But a sore lower back crept up on me overnight on Wednesday and now I’m in pain. I’m fighting it through prayer and faith, so please join me in the battle.

Apparently those of you who aren’t making the trip down to watch me should be able to track my progress online via the mini-Indy Web site. Not sure how it works, but feel free to give it a shot.
